It must work. . .A Chiropractor invented it.

Just when you thought that the whole magical magnetic bracelet theory had finally died, enter Phiten. Goodbye Sabona. We'll see you in our golf-playin', country club livin', metamucil chuggin', retirement years. Us young people can now wear Phiten. Ok, let's not get ahead of ourselves. For those who don't know, people have for years been theorizing that introducing certain magnets or metals to the skin will help a person feel better by altering the electrical atmosphere in cells. Sabona was the big name that introduced magnets as bracelets. Now Phiten claims that titanium may have several positive effects. Their products have become increasingly popular in Major League Baseball. Many players can now be seen wearing their necklaces. That thin nylon cord-looking necklace that you see around players' necks - yep, that's Phiten. Now that you know the whole pointless story of Sabona and Phiten and you are wondering why you're wasting your time with this blog, let's get to the point.

One of my friends at ATSU started wearing a Phiten necklace a few weeks ago. I had seen them before, but now I was intrigued. So I decided to do some research. Reading over some of the literature from Phiten I found that. . .well. . .it didn't completely make sense. The guy didn't completely understand how the body works. So I searched for a real research article about titanium, meaning research that was done by someone other than Phiten. None to be found. Shocking. Well, maybe not "shocking." Afterall, the founder is a chiropractor. If you're wondering if I'm inferring that chiropractors are not real healthcare professionals, the answer is yes. That's exactly right. If you would like my rationale for that, I would be happy to tell you some of the amazingly stupid things that they claim they can do. They basically claim that they can do everything, even save your soul from hell, just by popping your back. That was a sidetrack. All of this did inspire me to do my own research. I'm starting by buying my own Phiten necklace, and then considering making it my research project for my doctoral thesis. Look for future updates.
