Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got...
'Til it's gone. Once again, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot. One of my favorite places to be at is now closing. The Coffee Plantation at Biltmore Fashion Park is closing at the end of the day today because they lost their lease. If you've ever been here, you know that this is the perfect coffee shop, with as much outdoor space as indoor space, and in a perfect up-scale shopping center. I have been coming here to study since my freshman year of college. It was always a great little escape. It was also the place where Natalie and I first hung out to talk. This is where we began to get to know each other. Now as a married couple two years later, we walked in to this place this morning to find the sign that said they lost their lease and this is their last day in business here. I really can't understand that. Even as I sit here now, there are at least 70 other people here, with a line still forming at the register. And this is a slow day. Usually the place is packed out with easily more than 100 people, and finding a place to sit becomes quite difficult. So I know the place isn't hurting for money. This makes me wonder what happened. Maybe starbucks came and bought out the lease. They would do something like that. Whatever is going to happen, I can't imagine anything being here except a coffee shop. It's the perfect cozy little corner for one. This supports the case that it's important to appreciate things when they're there, because one day they won't be. It was just last week that I was sitting here on the patio doing homework when I looked up and began thinking how perfect this place is and how I'm so glad it's here. . . I'm glad that it was here.
