And the winner is...not the VMA's.

Sunday night was the night of the MTV VMA's (Video Music Awards). Like any major awards show, I started watching it. Within 3 minutes of listening to the host's intro my TV shut off. Funny thing, my finger reached over and hit the power button on the remote. Russell Brand, the British host, managed to push me over the edge in that small amount of time. I'll elaborate:

Strike 1 - He started out with "Please elect Barrack Obama!"

Strike 2 - He called President Bush "that retarded cowboy fella."

Strike 3 - He spend a couple of minutes bashing Sarah Palin's daughter.

By this time he had already struck out by traditional baseball rules and I'm scrambling for the remote, urgently trying to do my part in dropping MTV's ratings. I can't get to the remote fast enough. The strikes just keep coming by the second.

Strike 4 - he makes fun of purity rings and people who aren't sluts

Strike 5 - he does all this while wearing eye liner, women's jeans, and a hair cut reminiscent of a poodle on crack.

I get to the remote. Finally it's all over.

MTV made the biggest mistake in choosing him as the host. Thankfully today, it's all over the internet that he was the worst host in show history. Some of this country still has sense left in them. How does a foreigner think he has the right to come into our country, make fun of our President and our values? Then he tries to tell people who we should vote for in our election. He endorses the candidate that will be the most detrimental choice for our country.

I read one blog post from a citizen of England that said it all.
It said, "I hope they don't allow him back into England. He's an embarrassment."

That guys was horrible! I didn't watch the VMA's but the buzz the next day on every station was about how much of a flop he was! It really says something when people from "his side of the pond" don't even want him back.
