Natalie and I are about to start a new phase in life together. A little over a month ago we began thinking about the possiblity of her switching schools, meaning that we would have to leave GCU, a change that I knew would eventually come, but I was putting it off as long as possible. I originally thought that our humble 600+ square foot apartment here in the North Rim Apartments would be our home for the next year or two. . .but I was wrong. God reminded me that I'm not in control. So the search began for a new place. Our search began at Pinnacle Towne Center in the Biltmore District, and about a month later it also ended there as we signed a lease for a 3-story townhome. Quite an upgrade from our current pad. As nice as the new place is, a part of me knows that I will really miss the community here at GCU. Maybe I don't know everybody like I used to, but it's still a community of people that are my age that I have a lot in common with. It's still a place where I have grown and changed more than at any other time in my life. I hadn't realized it before talks of a move began, but college is the only time in a person's life when this unique situation presents itself. When else in life do you get the rare opportunity to live within 200 yards of several hundred people your age that you know? I've immensely enjoyed living here over the last four and a half years of my life. So many changes have taken place in my life here. I would not have been the same person without living here. Now I look forward to seeing what changes await me in the next phase of my life.

Yay I can't wait till we move!
Technically there is another time in your life when you live within 200 yards of other people of your age group -- the retirement home. Anywho... This is definitely an exciting time in the lives of the Palmers!
